The former two-time 50-goal scorer Dany Heatley is packing his bags and heading to Europe.

Heatley didn’t receive a contract or PTO from any of the 30 NHL clubs.

Last season the Anaheim Ducks gave Heatley a chance to become the player he once was. Unfortunity he wasn’t able to produce and the Ducks traded him to the Florida Panthers. The Panthers decided to keep him in the AHL and he never worn a Panthers sweater.

Dany Heatley signed a one-year deal with the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The Ice Tigers have a number of former NHL players, and that should make the journey easier for him. These players include including David Steckel, Kurtis Foster, Colin Fraser, Steven Reinprecht, and Brandon Segal.

Heatley was once a three-time All-Star and former Calder Trophy winner as rookie of the year. His glory days were in Atlanta and Ottawa then declined after asking for a trade to the Sharks. Heatley has been battling Injuries over the years, and it has impacted his play. His skating ability has decreased but his shot is still there. He needs to conduction himself and practice. Personal problems and injuries have given Dany quite the adventures over the years. His personal life ways seem to have caught up to the 34-year old.
